Jesenia Perez
About meJesenia Perez is a sophomore enrolled at Florida International University (FIU) majoring in Biological Sciences. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, she is an active member of the community. She participates in STEM-oriented volunteering projects, including the March for Science event hosted in April 2017. Her current research investigates the effects of oxidative stress on genetic stability and cellular senescence, and has strong potential for medical applications. Jesenia is a member of the Quantifying Biology in the Classroom (QBIC) Program, an honors track for Biological Science majors. She aspires to pursue a PhD researching the causes of genomic instability caused by environmental factors.
