Dr. Saurabh G. Vispute
Dr. Saurabh G. Vispute is a Research Scientist in Toxicology Department at Charles River Laboratories, Reno, NV. At Charles River, he serves as a Study Director responsible for preclinical safety assessment of potential drug candidates in rodent, canine and non-human primate models. He is primarily involved in design, conduct, interpretation, and reporting of GLP and non-GLP toxicology studies. Prior to joining Charles River, Dr. Vispute earned his doctorate in Pharmacology from St. John’s University, New York in 2015. His graduate research focused on characterizing the regulation of Fibroblast growth factor (Fgf) 21 and its pharmacological/toxicological implications. Dr. Vispute is a registered Pharmacist with a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Mumbai University, India (2009). He is an author/co-author of several (5+) publications in peer reviewed journals and has given 10+ presentations at international scientific meetings. Dr. Vispute’s academic achievement has been recognized by scientific organizations such as Society of Toxicology (SOT), American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), and American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) by awarding him several graduate student awards and scholarships. In addition, Dr. Vispute volunteers as a reviewer for 5+ peer‑reviewed journals and scientific abstract screening committees. He is actively involved in various groups/sections within SOT and ASPET such as MASOT, ASIO, Mechanisms SS, Biotechnology SS, ASPET Mentoring Network, etc. and is passionate about mentoring new talent. Dr. Vispute has been a member of SOT since 2013 and most recently served as a Chair of ASIO Newsletter Committee. Dr. Vispute continues to explore opportunities to contribute to the Society of Toxicology and is committed to strive towards betterment of the scientific community.
